The Ancestral Operating System

Eight evolved traits — and the $100B+ industry engineered to exploit each one.

You are not running modern software. You are running 200,000-year-old firmware on top of a 20-year-old attention economy.

Loss aversion, status seeking, tribal belonging, novelty hunger, scarcity, reciprocity, authority, and social proof — all of them were once survival traits. None of them were designed for a feed.

Every dollar of growth inside the attention economy is an arbitrage on one of these traits. Slot machines monetize variable reward. Social platforms monetize tribal status. Ultra-processed food monetizes calorie scarcity that no longer exists.

The traits aren't broken. The environment is. Until you can name the trait being exploited, you cannot redesign the incentive around it.

The Structural Flip

Design the environment, not the user. Every redesign in the Executive Course starts here.
