The challenge

Reposition a regional health system and its behavioral-health arm for exponential growth while shifting culture from reactive to strategic. Leadership described a strategy the frontline had never seen expressed in how work was assigned or rewarded.

The engagement

Multi-year advisory and facilitation with the C-suite. The audit baseline covered culture, strategy, and performance, followed by leadership interviews and an incentive map across communications, revenue strategy, and innovation cadence.

What the audit found
  • Crisis mode scored high while role clarity scored low — a classic signal that urgency was substituting for prioritization.
  • Recognition was concentrated on firefighting, so strategic work had no route to status.
  • Word bank skewed to 'Collaboration' and 'Healthy' but under-indexed on 'Shared Decisions.'
The outcome

New revenue streams unlocked, the leadership team aligned on a shared operating model, and a repeatable framework for approaching complex problems from new angles.

"Aaron helps us get out of our own way — turning ideas into plans and realizations that bring in better revenue."
Chris Lindley · Chief Population Health Officer, Vail Health
